Supreme Court of Missouri announces death of Judge Richard Teitelman

The Supreme Court of Missouri today announced the passing of its colleague, Judge Richard B. Teitelman, who began his service on the state’s high court in March 2002 and served as its chief justice from July 2011 through June 2013. Judge Teitelman was 69. The Court cancelled oral arguments scheduled for Tuesday.

“On behalf of the officers and members of The Missouri Bar, we offer our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Supreme Court of Missouri Judge Richard Teitelman,” Missouri Bar President Dana Tippin Cutler said in a statement. “We join with the Court in recognizing his 18 years of service to the people of Missouri as an appellate judge and his career-long dedication to making sure all Missourians, regardless of their income, have equal access to justice in Missouri.”

The Missouri Bar will share information concerning arrangements for those wishing to pay their respect as it becomes available.
